Wearing Hijab is comes under fundamental rights: The High court of Kerala while noting the petition filed by a student from the Muslim community to allow to appear for the All India Pre-Medical Entrance examination to wear hijab and full-sleeve dress for attending the Entrance Exam.
The petitioner has challenged the dress code rule of CBSE which was prescribed to prevent malpractices in the entrance exam. Whereas the High court observed that the right to wear the dress of their choice which is based on religious belief comes under the fundamental right protected by Article 25(1), this must be done to honor the religious belief of the students.
